Roof load ratings, published.
Every article in this category tells you to “check your dynamic roof load rating.” Almost none of them publish a table of the ratings. Here is ours, with the source for each figure, and an explicit blank where we could not find a number we would stand behind.
For context: the lightest Top Dog tent is 119 lb before hardware. Add mounting hardware and crossbars and a realistic build lands near 151 lb. Read the table with that number in mind.

For these we could not find a figure traceable to a manufacturer manual or corroborated across trustworthy sources. Rather than publish a number that might get someone hurt, we publish nothing — and our fitment tool routes these straight to a human.
Toyota 4Runner (6th gen) · 2025+
Rack hardware differs by trim (Trailhunter in particular) and we have no verified figure.
Toyota Tacoma (3rd gen) · 2016–2023
Most trims ship with no factory roof rack at all, so there is no meaningful roof rating — the rack you add sets the limit.

No single OEM dynamic rating — capacity is whatever rack you install.

Racks
System capacity is set by the weakest component — bars, feet and fit kits all carry separate ratings. Where a manufacturer's own figure differs from what resellers advertise, we use the manufacturer's.

Why do so many entries say 'not published'?

Because the blog ecosystem for this data is heavily machine-generated and self-contradicting — the same vehicle is quoted at 75, 110 and 150 lb across three sources in a single search. Where we could not trace a figure to a manufacturer manual or a well-corroborated industry source, we print 'not published' rather than pick one. A missing number means ask, not pass.
Is dynamic capacity measured with or without the rack?

Including it. The dynamic figure your manufacturer publishes is the total permitted load on the roof while driving, and the rack's own weight comes out of that budget first. A 55 lb platform rack on a 165 lb roof leaves you 110 lb for everything else.
Why don't you list static ratings for most vehicles?

Because most manufacturers do not publish one. The widely repeated 'static equals three times dynamic' rule is a Thule guideline for Thule racks — applying it to a vehicle roof is the single most dangerous shortcut in this category, so we do not do it.
